Brügge

Brügge ist die Hauptstadt und mit etwa 117.000 Einwohnern die größte Stadt der Provinz Westflandern in Belgien. Außerdem ist Brügge Bischofssitz der katholischen Kirche für das Bistum Brügge.
Der mittelalterliche Stadtkern wurde im Jahr 2000 von der UNESCO zum Weltkulturerbe erklärt. Im Jahr 2002 war Brügge Europäische Kulturhauptstadt.
